Celebrating 40 years!
/As we embark on our 40th anniversary, we are filled with gratitude for the support, encouragement, and collaboration of all those who have joined us in our mission. We are thrilled that CARE-Dallas is celebrating this significant milestone that speaks volumes about the enduring impact we've collectively made. For 40 years, your support has been instrumental in bringing hope to countless individuals and families grappling with substance abuse. Together, we have forged partnerships with schools, churches, and the broader community to impart crucial knowledge about the dangers of underage drinking and drug misuse to students, parents, and caregivers.
The challenges we face today are formidable—underage binge drinking is on the rise, and the fentanyl crisis claims the lives of five Texans daily. As 2024 has begun, CARE-Dallas is resolute in its commitment to do more. Our mission is to deepen our impact and extend our reach, and we invite you to be an integral part of this journey. We recently launched two educational initiatives. The first, 'Talk. They Hear You,' is specifically tailored for our youth under 21. It equips parents with valuable resources to engage in early and frequent conversations with their children about underage drinking. The second initiative, 'Prevent and Protect,' focuses on Fentanyl awareness, Narcan distribution, and Narcan training throughout the SMU student community. Our goal is to distribute 400 Narcan kits this year.
Serving our community is both an honor and a responsibility. Our commitment to educating and safeguarding our neighbors, particularly our precious children, remains unwavering. Thank you for your donations. Thank you for giving your time, talent, and money. You are vital to our growth, and we hope you will continue to join us on this journey. Together, let us celebrate our 40th anniversary and embark on this new chapter with renewed determination to make a positive impact. One of my favorite authors says it best, ‘To the world, you might be one person but to one person you might be the world!’ -Dr. Seuss
